Cara Ellison is an internationally-renowned leader in design and writing for videogames and is part of the BAFTA Breakthrough cohort of 2025.

Originally from Scotland, she also writes for TV and comics. She serves on the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) narrative jury and is a mentor for the BAFTA Scotland programme.

An award-winning itinerant journalist in her previous life, she has also written books, worked for BBC radio, and co-designed a BAFTA-award winning TV show for children. She is always seeking to expand the world's ideas of what any form of entertainment can do, and who it is for.
